The short version:
- Everything Tab Board saves stays on your computer, in Chrome's own storage.
- We do not collect, receive, store, sell or share your tabs, links, notes or browsing data. There is no Digital Vision server for the extension to send them to.
- None of your data is used for artificial intelligence, machine learning or model training. Not by us, and not by anyone we work with.
- There's no account, no analytics and no tracking inside the extension.
1. Who we are
Tab Board is made by Digital Vision Media Group Inc., a Canadian corporation at 125-720 King Street West, Suite 216, Toronto, ON, M5V3S5. You can reach us at [email protected]. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Digital Vision Media Group Inc., and "Tab Board" means the Chrome extension.
2. What Tab Board works with, and where it stays
To do its job, Tab Board works with the following information. All of it is stored only in Chrome's local extension storage on your own device:
- Your open tabs: the title, web address and window of each open tab, so the sidebar can show them and you can save them.
- What you save: the links, headings, notes, to-dos, snippets, shortcuts, workspace and category names and icons you create.
- Window names and saved windows: the names you give your windows and the links in windows you save and close.
- Settings: your theme, which workspace you last had open and similar preferences.
This information is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. We cannot see it, and we have no copy of it.
3. What we don't do
- We don't collect, store or have access to your browsing history, tabs, saved links, notes or any other content in Tab Board.
- We don't use any of it, and we have none of it, to train, fine-tune, evaluate or improve artificial intelligence or machine-learning models, ours or anyone else's.
- We don't sell, rent or share your data, and we don't use it for advertising, profiling or credit decisions.
- Tab Board has no analytics, tracking pixels, cookies or user accounts.
- Tab Board can't read or change the content of the web pages you visit. It only sees each open tab's title and address.
- Tab Board doesn't download or run code from the internet. Everything it runs ships inside the extension.
4. Permissions and why each is needed
| Chrome permission | Why Tab Board needs it |
|---|---|
| New tab page | Shows your board when you open a new tab. |
tabs | Lists the titles and addresses of your open tabs and windows so you can save, open, close and drag them. |
storage, unlimitedStorage | Saves your board on your computer, without a size limit for large boards. |
favicon | Shows each site's icon from Chrome's own local icon cache, without contacting any icon service. |
contextMenus | Adds "Save to DV Tab Board" to the right-click menu. |
downloads | Writes your automatic backup file to your Downloads folder. |
alarms | Checks once an hour whether a new daily backup is due. |
5. Backups and exports
On days your board changes, Tab Board saves a backup file to Downloads/DV Tab Board Backups/ on your computer. When you choose Export backup, the file goes wherever you save it. These files stay on your device. If your Downloads folder is synced by a cloud service (for example iCloud, Google Drive or Dropbox), that service will copy the files, and its own terms and privacy policy apply to that copy. You can delete backup files at any time.
6. Opening your saved links
When you open a saved link, your browser connects to that website as it normally would. Tab Board doesn't send anything to that site. Each website's own privacy policy applies to your visit.
7. Google and the Chrome Web Store
If you install Tab Board from the Chrome Web Store, Google may process information about the installation under Google's Privacy Policy. We don't receive your saved data from Google or anyone else.
Tab Board's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
8. Your control over your data
- Edit or delete anything on your board at any time.
- Export your board as a file, or import one, from the settings menu.
- Uninstalling Tab Board makes Chrome delete the extension's stored data. Backup files in your Downloads folder stay until you delete them.
Because we don't hold any of your Tab Board data, there's nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on our side. If you have questions about privacy laws that apply to you, such as PIPEDA in Canada or the GDPR in Europe, contact us at the address below.
9. Children
Tab Board isn't directed at children under 13, and it doesn't collect personal information from anyone.
10. This website
This policy covers the Tab Board extension. Our website, digitalvision.io, is covered by the Digital Vision Privacy Policy. The Tab Board pages on our website don't load advertising or analytics trackers.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update it on this page and change the effective date above. If a future version of Tab Board ever offers a feature that sends data off your computer, such as sharing a board with a team, we will update this policy before that feature is released, and the feature will not send any data unless you choose to turn it on.
